Sagicor Property Services Limited is seeking a suitable candidate to join our team in the capacity of:
Supervisor – Maintenance & Building Management
Location: Kingston
 
This role includes:
  • Daily exposure to hazardous materials such as chemicals, electrical short circuits and rotating machinery.
    Lifting and moving of heavy materials and equipment.
As a Supervisor – Maintenance & Building Management, you will:
  • Coordinate the daily activities of the maintenance team and arrange resources necessary for the proper and efficient maintenance of all assets owned by the company.
  • Oversee the team within the department:
  • Execute the performance management system to ensure that all direct reports understand the department’s goals and objectives and formally appraise team members’ performance.
  • Provide team members with on-going feedback on their individual performance.
  • Deploy the team on shifts to meet short and long-term requirements.
  • Oversee the maintenance, improvement and renovation of the properties:
  • Execute planned maintenance programs for each property.
  • Implement systems and procedures to ensure the effective upkeep of machinery and equipment.
  • Review, modify, implement and administer preventative and corrective maintenance systems as well as energy management systems for buildings.
  • Complete projects as set out in the capital expenditure budget and as required on the properties.
  • Coordinate with Utility Monitoring Assistant (UMA) to identify properties with high consumption or irregular usage.
  • Ensure that Utility Monitoring Assistant liaises with tenants to highlight issues and submit monthly reports of all irregularities found including analysis and notification time.
  • Establish cause of breakdown, respond to major equipment failures and take the necessary corrective measures to restore them with minimum downtime.
  • Assess, review and train the team within the department on safety procedures.
  • Review, formulate and execute emergency and disaster management programs.
  • Perform any other related duties that may be assigned.
What do you need?
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/ Electrical, Construction Engineering or equivalent qualification from a recognized tertiary institution.
  • At least five (5) years’ working experience in commercial property maintenance, with at least one (1) year at the supervisory level.
  • Supervisory or Management training would be an asset.
  • Highly developed interpersonal relationship and client relations skills.
  • Good planning and organizational skills.
  • Working knowledge of building equipment maintenance, including automated management software systems.
  • Proficiency in the use of computer software packages such as database management and spreadsheet applications.
  • Prior experience in the troubleshooting of industrial equipment/ machinery.
    Meticulous.
  • Ability to produce reports.
