Sagicor Group Jamaica Limited is seeking a suitable candidate to join our Shared Services IT team in the capacity of: Programmer Analyst - Mulesoft
Location: Kingston
 
 
As a Programmer Analyst, you will:
  • Have responsibility to produce system designs, code, technical documentation and technical support.
  • Provide technical support for web, desktop or mobile application.
  • Develop clean, scalable and modular applications using MuleSoft and other related tools.
  • Revise, update, refactor and debug codes.
  • Apply automated and manual tools including ‘black box’ and ‘white box’ testing, to test and evaluate systems and networks under development.
  • Perform thorough unit testing and peer review to ensure that quality output for development is maintained.
  • Modify application software to include corrective maintenance.
  • Take technical responsibility for most stages of the life cycle for software development of all types of systems .
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to design software architecture:
  • Participate in requirements analysis.
  • Take responsibility for investigative work to seek effective business solutions for assigned projects.
  • Plans, arranges, and controls meetings, workshops, and relations with client/user staff during system investigations and throughout subsequent development work.
  • Takes responsibility as needed for the detailed specification and modelling of recommended solutions.
  • Develop documentation throughout the software development life cycle (SDLC).
  • Prepare and analyze functional specification documents.
  • Prepare and submit Request for Change (RFC) documents.
  • Evaluate and undertake impact analysis on major technical options and takes a leading role in proposing technical solutions within area of expertise.
  • Take responsibility for investigative work to seek effective business solutions for assigned projects.
  • Utilize business experience and skills to assess and advise on the practicability of alternatives.
  • Take responsibility as needed for the detailed specification and modelling of recommended solutions.
  • Perform other related duties assigned from time to time.
What do you need?
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline from a recognized tertiary institution.
  • A minimum of two (2) years working experience in IT related disciplines.
  • Excellent knowledge programming techniques and concepts.
  • Strong knowledge of the insurance or financial services industry.
  • Knowledge of modern development practices, technologies, methodologies and tools (Agile/Scrum, CICD, Git, APIs).
  • Knowledge of design/ architectural patterns (e.g. Model-View-Controller (MVC, micro services, API networks and API layering).
  • Knowledge of key object oriented programming concepts.
  • Experience working with various relational and other databases (DB2, MS SQL).
  • Strong knowledge of communication technologies JSON, RAML, OAS, REST and API design.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, problem solving and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Java would be an asset.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS would be an asset.
