Applications invited for the post of Database Specialist

Position Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field
• At least four years practical database management work experience in a mid-sized or large corporate Information Technology environment
• At least three years of practical experience working with the BI stack (SSIS/SSRS/SSAS), and experience working with applications systems and solutions
• Valid certification in at least one of the following enterprise DBMS: MS SQL, Postgre SQL

Applicants should have:

• Thorough knowledge of database design and concepts
• Knowledge of data warehouse best practices
• The ability to maintain and monitor availability, security, and integrity of databases
• Be experience with data query and manipulation languages
• The ability to monitor and tune databases and instances
• Knowledge of backup and recovery operations for database management systems
• Experience in developing data integrations using SSIS or other ETL tools
• Practical experience with Foxpro and at least Postgres 9.5 would be an asset
• Excellent communication, analytical and problem solving skills
• The ability to operate efficiently under pressure

Main Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the planning, development/configuration and maintenance of the company’s databases and data warehouses, while ensuring security and a high level of data availability.
