Sagicor Bank Jamaica Limited is seeking a suitable candidate to join our Credit Risk team in the capacity of: Credit Quality Associate
Location: Kingston
 
 
As a Credit Quality Associate, you will:
  • Conduct Post Loan Reviews for the Retail Banking Portfolio while ensuring that the origination, adjudication and management is in accordance with Credit Policies and Procedures.
  • Review the Credit Underwriting practices of the loans disbursed and ensure that approval is granted within established credit policy guidelines, procedures and statutory regulations.
  • Report findings objectively and make appropriate recommendations for corrective actions and/or improvements to resolve gaps and mitigate risk.
  • Provide immediate feedback to Lenders/Branch Managers on adversely rated findings.
  • Make recommendations on generally accepted Banking Practices to enhance efficiency.
  • Update incoming files log with the records of all files requested, received, reviewed, and dispatched.
  • Verify data for retail banking credit applications submitted for adjudication in compliance with standards, policies and guidelines for Total Single Name Exposures (TSNE).
  • Ensure that the service level agreements are maintained.
  • Perform other job-related duties assigned from time to time.
What do you need?
  • Bachelor’s degree in Banking, Business Administration, or equivalent qualification from a recognized tertiary institution.
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ working experience in banking or other financial institution, with experience in credit risk management, lending, or similar discipline.
  • Credit Risk Management training would be an asset.
  • Strong sense of confidentiality, impartiality, and objectivity.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • High level of professionalism and ethical standards.
  • High level of enthusiasm – proactive and self-disciplined.
  • Proficiency in the use of banking technology and Microsoft Office Suite.
