Employee Benefits Administrator Limited is seeking a suitable candidate to join our Pension Services (EBA) team in the capacity of: Compliance Officer
Location: Kingston
 
 
As a Compliance Officer, you will:
  • Support the Compliance Manager in ensuring that plans are compliant with the regulatory requirements of the Pensions Act, Regulations and Income Tax Act.
  • Review Financial Services Commission and Tax Administration Jamaica’s reports as assigned for accuracy.
  • Prepare and send outstanding contribution letters to clients who have not paid their deposits by the stipulated timeframe.
  • Prepare and send audit reminder letters to the respective clients.
  • Determine on each anniversary which clients require an audit based on the criteria set out in the Pensions Act.
  • Prepare and send annual reports to trustee boards on the status of their regulatory reporting.
  • Prepare and send reminder letter to trustee boards that have not convened a trustee meeting year to date.
  • Review all documents received from the Financial Services Commission and Tax Administration Jamaica, log deadline date and route to relevant persons for action.
  • Prepare holding letter to be sent to Financial Services Commission and Tax Administration Jamaica’s for documents requiring response.
  • Log all desk-based examination review, letters and progress report requests received from the Financial Services Commission.
  • Maintain a database of all relevant pension plans with respect to the filing of all regulatory reports.
  • Assist the Compliance Manager in preparing the monthly reports on compliance activities.
  • Complete and submit regulatory reports and correspondence to the relevant personnel.
  • Perform other related duties assigned from time to time.
What do you need?
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Management Studies, or relevant discipline from a recognized tertiary institution.
  • A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a similar capacity.
  • Sound knowledge of computer software packages including word processing and spreadsheet applications.
  • Working knowledge of the Pensions Act, 2004 and regulations and Income Tax Act.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to manage time effectively
  • Must be able to multi-task.
  • High attention to detail
