Sagicor Bank Jamaica Limited is seeking a suitable candidate to join our Corporate Banking team in the capacity of:
Assistant Vice President -Corporate & Commercial Banking
Location: Kingston
As an Assistant Vice President, you will:
Lead and develop a team of sales, client service representatives and underwriters to support client retention, acquisition, and growth.
Responsible for enhancing experience, driving high employee engagement and ensuring an acceptable risk exposure as it relates to operational and credit requirements.
Collaborate closely with the Vice President of Risk to successfully bank new loan clients at acceptable credit risk in line with Sagicor’s risk appetite.
Promote and cross sell the Banks products and services across different business lines.
Refer mortgages and credit card to Retail Banking, Strategic Business Development & SME Business Banking.
Lead and manage the Corporate and Commercial Banking Team and maintain awareness of competitors, market conditions and opportunities for growth.
Manage effective customer service directly or through feedback from Managerial staff.
Respond to escalated customer queries/concerns within the stipulated guidelines.
Assist Leadership in ensuring that adequate manpower, material and equipment are in place to serve the needs of the customer.
Develop Business Plan for Corporate Banking Division.
Assist in preparing the budget in accordance with corporate objectives, strategies, policies and procedures.
Analyze local trends and forecast branch needs and develop action plans to keep in line with projected needs.
Provide Senior Vice President with information on the activities and performance of the Corporate and Commercial Banking Unit.
Perform other job-related duties assigned from time to time.
What do you need?
Master’s degree in Banking, Finance, Management Studies or equivalent qualification, from a recognized tertiary institution.
At least ten (10) years’ working experience in a bank or another financial institution including five (5) years in managing commercial relationships.
Knowledge of the Sagicor’s Business Banking products and services.
Proven ability in identifying and meeting customer needs through a broad range of products and services.
Proven analytical ability, with experience of credit or relationship management within the Commercial sector.
Knowledge of the Banking Act of Jamaica.
Broad knowledge of Sagicor’s Group capabilities and Commercial Banking’s proposition and product capabilities.
Good understanding of the local and international ‘Commercial’ environment.
Proven ability to innovate and deliver creative and flexible customer solutions.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Ability to effectively plan and organize, with tenacity to drive through results.
Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal, and the ability to deliver compelling presentations.
