Sagicor Group Jamaica Limited is seeking a suitable candidate to join our Group Testing Support and Evaluation team in the capacity of: Application Tester
- Support the business requirements for the provision of system testing services.
- Support business related test activity on a project, as guided by the Test Analyst.
- Identify and subsequently define the required tests and execute the test coverage.
- Undertake all system test related activities in support of the business requirements for the provision of new and updated systems:
- Prepare test cases, test scripts, and test reports for an application testing strategy/ approach.
- Participate in functional, integration and regression testing, or other test types, to ensure appropriate test coverage according to application requirements.
- Perform end to end testing of applications including requirements understanding, test planning, test case and scenario development, test execution, results analysis and manage test data.
- Work with teams in a collaborative style to engage partners and proactively manage testing activities.
- Improve quality of applications and user satisfaction by minimizing the number of defects that go into User Acceptance
- Testing and production.
- Generate test metrics and record appropriately using standardized formats.
- Participate in the re-testing of defects and issues.
- Support other test team members and associated Information Technology resources, as appropriate, through the execution of testing related activities.
- Assist with attended testing, by retrieving/ obtaining data or peripheral devices for use in test execution.
- Ensure compliance with defined processes pertaining to preparation and escalation of defects.
- Perform any other duties assigned from time to time.
What do you need?
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Business, or related discipline from a recognized tertiary institution.
- At least one (1) year working experience in a business/ computing environment.
- Good analytical skills.
- Attention to detail and tenacity.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Good organization and time management skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to work in a team.
- Committed to professional and ethical standards.
- Advanced proficiency in the use of computer software packages such as Microsoft Office Suite.
