 Alliance Financial Services Limited a member of the Sagicor Group is seeking a suitable candidate to join our team in the capacity of:
 Finance Manager
Location: Kingston  
 
As A Finance Manager, you will:
  • Perform execute accounting functions at a level that will enhance the effective operations of the department and the achievement of the goals and objectives. 
  • Maintain an accurate General Ledger by:
  • Managing and reviewing of team members tasks, ensuring that all financial transactions are appropriately recorded, and that the ledger reflects the true financial condition of the company.
  • Reviewing fixed asset registers on a monthly basis to ensure that all balances are properly recorded and agrees with the general ledger.
  • Approving journal entries and ensuring that all transactions are recorded, and the general ledger is updated and maintained monthly.
  • Preparing payroll reconciliations monthly.
  • Reviewing bank reconciliations and suspense/ clearing account analysis.
  • Conducting periodic review of customer receivable balance to identify any amounts deemed irrecoverable.
  • Ensuring that all audit requests are executed and reviewing all monthly audit schedules.
  • Preparing monthly corporate tax computations including deferred tax.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly management reports including written explanations of variances between budget and prior periods as directed.
  • Prepare statutory financial reports/ returns including commentary on variances as directed, this includes draft tax returns.
  • Execute the Planning and Budgeting process.
  • Provide sound direction and training for Accountants & Finance Officers, including the monitoring of performance on an on-going basis and the recruitment of new team members.
  • Sign cheques, contracts and reports as required.
  • Approve wire transfers from bank accounts and reports to the regulators.
  • Ensure that all GCT, Statutory payroll taxes, Asset tax and corporation taxes are paid within the required time frame.
  • Perform other related duties assigned from time to time.
What do you need?
  • Bachelor’s degree in Management Studies, Accounting, Finance, or equivalent qualifications from a recognized tertiary institution.
  • A minimum of five (5) years’ managerial or supervisory experience in a Cambio, Remittance, Financial institution, or Audit Firm.
  • Successfully completed ACCA, CPA or equivalent with experience in accountancy.
  • A strong knowledge of a broad range of disciplines such as: Financial Reporting and Analysis, including IFRS, Planning & Budgeting, Taxation and Accounting Practice in financial services entities.
  • Able to analyze and advise on the tax consequences or planning opportunities for complex transactions.
  • Able to Analyze and predict the impact of strategic and operational decisions on financial results.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, communication skills, flexibility, and an ability to manage the variety of tasks assigned.
  • A working knowledge of policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of the company’s operations.
