Sagicor Life Jamaica Limited is seeking a suitable candidate to join our Insurance Operations Services – Claims Management team in the capacity of: Claims Examining Assistant
- Evaluate death, disability and accident claims, benefit payments arising from the group life, group mortgage and personal accident portfolios, interpreting contract provisions to ensure payments accurately reflect the terms and conditions of contracts.
- Liaise with administrators, brokers and clients regarding group life and personal accident benefits
- Evaluate and settle all group life and personal accident claims.
- Examine claims documents for completeness, validity and for further investigations:
- Review and interpret policy contracts in light of actual and/ or possible claims under the guidance of the Senior Claims Examiner/ supervisor.
- Provide guidance to clients/ beneficiaries in completing claim forms and on benefits.
- Verify coverage to be paid with Group Insurance Administrators, Senior Claims Examiner or Supervisor prior to processing claim on Group:
Prepare letters requesting the clients’ banking information and discharge forms to be completed by the company for all payments over stipulated amount. - Prepare cheque letters and inform clients of settlements and record payments on the Group Life web application.
- Prepare monthly reports of deliverables completed.
- Perform any other related duties assigned from time to time.
What do you need?
- Minimum of six (6) CSEC subjects including English Language and Mathematics or a diploma in Business Studies or Computing from a recognized institution.
- Successful completion of the LOMA parts 1 & 2 designation.
- At least one (1) year working experience in the life Insurance industry.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong knowledge of the company’s group life, health and mortgage insurance products.
- Demonstrates initiative and potential leadership skills.
- Sound knowledge of computer software packages including spreadsheets and word processing applications.
