Sagicor Life Jamaica Limited is seeking a suitable candidate to join our Business Optimization and Systems Control team in the capacity of: Application Tester
Location: Kingston
As an Application Tester, you will:
Support the business requirements for the provision of system testing services.
Support business related test activity on a project, as guided by the Test Analyst.
Identify and subsequently define the required tests and execute the test coverage.
Undertake all system test related activities in support of the business requirements for the provision of new and updated systems:
Prepare test cases, test scripts, and test reports for an application testing strategy/ approach.
Participate in functional, integration and regression testing, or other test types, to ensure appropriate test coverage according to application requirements.
Perform end to end testing of applications including requirements understanding, test planning, test case and scenario development, test execution, results analysis and manage test data.
Work with teams in a collaborative style to engage partners and proactively manage testing activities.
Improve quality of applications and user satisfaction by minimizing the number of defects that go into User Acceptance Testing and production.
Generate test metrics and record appropriately using standardized formats.
Participate in the re-testing of defects and issues.
Support other test team members and associated Information Technology resources, as appropriate, through the execution of testing related activities.
Assist with attended testing, by retrieving/ obtaining data or peripheral devices for use in test execution.
Ensure compliance with defined processes pertaining to preparation and escalation of defects.
Perform other job-related duties assigned from time to time.
What do you need?
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, or related discipline from a recognized tertiary institution.
At least one (1) year working experience in a business/ computing environment.
Good analytical skills.
Attention to detail and tenacity.
Ability to work under pressure.
Good organization and time management skills.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Good communication skills.
Ability to work in a team.
Committed to professional and ethical standards.
Advanced proficiency in the use of computer software packages such as Microsoft Office Suite.
