Sagicor Bank Jamaica Limited is seeking a suitable candidate to join our Strategic Business Development team in the capacity of: Loan Processing Officer
Location: Kingston
As a Loan Processing Officer, you will:
  • Assist the sales and support teams within the unit in a timely and efficient manner while delivering a high standard of professional service, including value-added after-sales service, to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Be effective and efficient in managing submissions and queries and ensure they are completed in a timely manner and in keeping with the Bank’s service standards.
  • Liaise with internal departments and external partners so that the day-to-day operations of the department run smoothly as well as actively cross-sell the Group’s products and services to new and existing clients.
  • Provide superior service to all internal and external clients, consistent with Sagicor’s client service standards at every point of contact
  • Prepare loan documents after approval and sign clients in fulfilment of disbursements.
  • Prepare loan files after loan disbursement.
  • Submit loan files to Credit Quality for audit as required.
  • Assist with the preparation of security documentation.
  • Assist with the follow up of outstanding collateral and update clients’ files accordingly.
  • Assist with updating clients Know-Your-Clients information.
  • Assist with follow up of delinquent loans up that are past due.
  • File loan files and maintain proper credit filing system.
  • Assist with loan queries received through email, the client support team and other queries.
  • Request collateral release from the Disbursement unit and prepare disbursement letters.
  • Provide proper disclosure of terms and fees to clients.
  • Assist with the postings of manual loan payments and fees entries.
  • Prepare entries for posting of loan transactions.
  • Represent the Bank at sales events as required.
  • Participate in special promotions and other business development activities.
  • Market and sell Bank products and service and referral and refer clients to the Business Development Representatives.
  • Assist with resolving post loan reviews for the unit.
  • Assist with monitoring and escalating client service experience received through the platform, ECRIS.
  • Monitor, update and provide weekly reports for the various trackers in the unit.
  • Complete weekly and monthly analysis of the various reports generated for the unit.
  • Perform any other duties assigned from time to time.
What do you need?
  • Bachelor’s degree in Banking & Finance, Business Administration, or related discipline from a recognized tertiary institution.
  • At least two (2) years working experience in financial services, customer service, marketing or sales.
  • Minimum of two (2) years leadership/ supervisory experience would be an asset.
  • Demonstrated experience in assisting people to work towards ambitious targets and sales objectives.
  • Experience in credit and collateral securities in a financial institution would be an asset.
  • Proficiency in the use of computer software packages such as word processing and spreadsheet applications.
  • Knowledge of the Bank’s credit policies and procedures.
  • High degree of accuracy and detail oriented.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of the Proceeds of Crime Act (POCA).
  • High degree of client service delivery and confidentiality.
  • Ability to work under pressure and on own initiative.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical and report generating skills.
  • Effective team player with good interpersonal skills.
  • Moderate supervisory management skills.
