Storeroom Supervisor - Montego Bay
 
 
POSITION PURPOSE:
 
Responsible for assisting in a variety of storeroom duties, includingreceiving, unloading and loading trucks, fulfilling purchase orders, and keeping warehouse stocked with essential equipment.
 
This document describes the work that should normally be done. It should be borne in mind that no frame of reference is in itself complete and the use of one’s initiative and discretion must always be a guiding factor.
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • The following are specific responsibilities and contributions critical to the successful performance of the position:
  • Supervising the Storeroom & Administrative department team members
  • Performing manual check of all delivery items
  • Monitoring upper storage area, ensuring a properly floor all goods going in and out
  • Performing stock updates (receiving, inter store transfers, returns, stock count)
  • Setting up promotions for ALL stores
  • Achieve high levels of customer satisfaction through excellence in receiving, identifying, dispatching and assuring quality of goods
  • Measure and report the effectiveness of storeroom activities and employee’s performance
  • Organise and maintain inventory and storage area
  • Ensure shipments’ and inventory transactions’ accuracy
  • Communicate job expectations and provide employee coaching where necessary
  • Determine staffing levels and assign workload
  • Interface with customers, suppliers, merchandisers to answer questions or solve problems
  • Identify areas for improvement and establish innovative ways to ensure efficiency in existing work procedures and practices
  • Confer and coordinate activities with other departments.
  • Double checking local order to reduce overstocking.
  • Signing off on credit note for credit request.
  • Performs any other reasonable duty as requested.
SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS:
In addition to performance of the essential functions above, this position may be required to perform a combination of other supportive functions, to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of Fontana Limited.
 
Other:
  • In order to properly service our clients, you may be required to work outside of our scheduled business hours.
  • Timely execution of duties in keeping with pre-arranged schedule.
  • Care and diligence in protecting the organization’s assets
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
 
Working Environment / Physical Activities:
  • Considerable physical activity. May require long working hours and also handling of objects that can weigh up to 50 lbs.
 
EXPERIENCE; EDUCATION OR CERTIFICATION
  • A minimum of Associate Degree in Business Administration
  • At least 4 years work experience at a management or supervisor level (Retail base a plus)
  • Certificate in Supervisory Management
  • Customer Service / Sales Training
  • Certificate in Computer Skills/Training (Microsoft Office Suite)
  • Firm knowledge of inventory management systems
  • Knowledge of retail store operations will be an asset
  • Must be flexible to:
    • Work on weekends
    • Work on public holidays
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
  • Knowledge of storeroom/warehouse software inventory
  • MS Office proficiency
  • Ability to input, retrieve and analyze data.
  • Knowledge of supplies, equipment, and/or services ordering and inventory control.
  • Ability to provide clear and accurate verbal instructions and directions to individuals with various levels of technical expertise
  • Willingness to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Ability to arrange items into logical orders or patterns according to a specific rule or set of rules
  • Ability to receive, stock, and/or deliver goods.
  • Strong problem solving skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate (verbal, listening, writing) and manage well at all levels of the organization and with staff at remote locations essential.
  • Ability to operate motor vehicles (e.g., trucks, electric golf carts) for product relocation
  • Must be detailed oriented and a multitasker with superb organizational skills
  • Must possess a high level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency
  • Must have strong internal and external customer service skills
  • Willingness to demonstrate lateral service and support in a cooperative and pleasant manner for the overall good of the company.
