Sagicor Group Jamaica Limited is seeking a suitable candidate to join our Shared Services IT team in the capacity of: Solutions Engineer
- Play a crucial role in designing, developing, and implementing comprehensive technology solutions to meet the specific needs of users.
- Work closely with users, stakeholders and technical teams to understand business requirements and translate them into scalable, efficient, and robust architecture designs.
- Collaborate with users and stakeholders to understand their business objectives, functional requirements, and technical needs.
- Develop end-to-end architecture designs that align with business goals, industry best practices, and technical standards, identifying potential risks and dependencies associated with architecture designs.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Research and evaluate new technologies, tools, and frameworks to identify opportunities for innovation and optimization. Recommend technology solutions that address business challenges and align with strategic objectives.
- Collaborate with development teams to oversee the implementation of architecture designs.
- Engage with clients to present and discuss architecture designs, proposals, and technical recommendations.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation including architecture diagrams, design specifications, and technical documentation.
- Perform other related duties assigned from time to time.
What do you need?
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field from a recognized tertiary institution.
- Minimum of five (5) years working experience, designing, documenting and architecting technical solutions.
- Minimum of one (1) year working experience in the financial sector would be an asset.
- Proven experience in software development, system design, or technical architecture.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Relevant certification (e.g. AWS Certified Solutions Architect, MuleSoft Integration Architect, TOGAF) would be an asset.
- Strong understanding of software development methodologies, architecture patterns and design principles.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of Java would be an asset.
- Strong knowledge of the insurance or financial services industry would be an asset.
- Proficiency in cloud computing platforms (e.g. AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, MuleSoft) and associated services would be an asset.
