Sagicor Bank Jamaica Limited is seeking a suitable candidate to join our Centralized Business Support team in the capacity of: Research Assistant (Contract)
Location: Kingston
 
 
As A Research Assistant, you will:
  • Perform research and investigations to satisfy both the client and business needs within the established service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Respond to clients’ queries in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Perform the duties to resolve the assigned queries and research requests.
  • Obtain the documentation from the relevant departments to complete the investigations.
  • Utilize the relevant legacy systems and retrieve vouchers and other required documents from storage.
  • Assist with the filing, maintenance and destruction of documents in storage as per the bank’s policies as well as regulations.
  • Process utility reconciliation and payments to facilitate the required transfers.
  • Assist with the validation of cheques.
  • Perform duties to assist with the items for return and processing within the stipulated timeframe.
  • Assist with the preparation of statements.
  • Assist with filing of the work from the Validation unit.
  • Perform other job-related duties assigned from time to time.
What do you need?
  • Minimum of six (6) CSEC or GCE subjects including English Language and a quantitative subject or a Diploma in Business
  • Management or a related discipline.
  • At least two (2) years working experience in the banking operations department of a commercial banking entity.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite of applications.
  • Knowledge of Securities processing would be an asset.
  • Knowledge of Proceeds of Crime Act (POCA).
  • Knowledge of the Bank’s policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of the Jamaica Clearing Bankers Association Clearinghouse rules.
  • High degree of accuracy and detail oriented.
  • High degree of confidentiality.
  • Ability to work under pressure, independently and in teams.
  • Effective interpersonal/ communication skills.
  • Strong team orientation.
  • Proficient in RTGS, ACH, T24 and SWIFT applications.
