Sagicor Group Jamaica Limited is seeking a suitable candidate to join our Fund Accounting in the capacity of: Manager - Finance
- Provide financial accounting support by ensuring that all financial and accounting related transactions are properly recognized, measured, and reported in accordance with company’s policy and applicable accounting standards (IFRS).
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements.
- Coordinate the external quarterly and year end audit reviews.
- Supervise the preparation of the Sagicor Financial Corporation (FSC) quarterly financial reporting package to ensure the timely and accurate reporting of financial information.
- Supervise the account reconciliation process for all general ledger accounts monthly.
- Supervise/ review all monthly audit schedules.
- Oversee the timely submission of reports to the regulatory bodies.
- Participate in projects/ initiatives such as new product development that require financial and accounting related expertise.
- Coach and manage team members.
- Manage reviews conducted by regulators (FSC) or internal/ external audit in relation to the financial/ accounting operations of the unit.
- Perform any other duties assigned from time to time.
What do you need?
- Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or Chartered Accountant (ACCA) II qualifications from a recognized tertiary institution.
- At least five (5) years accounting experience.
- A minimum of three (3) years’ working experience at a supervisory/ managerial level, preferably in the financial industry.
- Knowledge of international accounting standards.
- Knowledge of the regulatory framework in Jamaica, specifically in relation to the Financial Services Commission (FSC).
- Knowledge of financial analysis.
- Good analytical and numeric skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to produce reports.
- Sound knowledge of computer software packages including word processing and spreadsheet applications.
- Ability to work in a demanding environment and to be able to meet strict deadlines.
- Attention to detail and ability to concentrate in busy environments.
