Sagicor Group Jamaica Limited is seeking a suitable candidate to join our Group Treasury Operations team in the capacity of: Group Treasury Operations Associate – Treasury & Trading
Location: Kingston
 
 
As a Group Treasury Operations Associate, you will:
  • Execute the daily settlements for the Treasury functions across the Sagicor Group.
  • Monitor, research and post interest, coupons or principal payments.
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of system data by ensuring that the transactions are accurately executed and recorded.
  • Reconcile diaries and dispatch of instructions for interest / coupon and principal payments received.
  • Instruct Treasury & client reps to pay clients respective payments.
  • Process new JMD funds received in the BOJ account for repurchase agreements.
  • Process all entries that passes through BOJ account, Jamclear CSD & PO, egate.
  • Reconcile and clear settlement accounts including BOJ, overseas brokers, Citi-Outsourcing accounts.
  • Prepare letters for incoming funds from overseas brokers for coupon/interest payments and principal payments.
  • Prepare letters of confirmation to local brokers.
  • Process client pay-outs on the system (wire, ACH, RTGS, cheques and transaction request- which includes liquidating and rebooking repos).
  • Input transactions on JAMCLEAR/PO platform.
  • Perform any other duties that may be assigned.
What do you need?
  • Associate Degree in Finance / Management Studies or related discipline from a recognized tertiary institution.
  • At least two (2) years’ working experience in a financial institution.
  • Successful completion of the Jamaica Securities Course would be an asset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of Applications.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to details.
  • A team player, problem solver, self-motivated and possess integrity.
  • Ability to work independently on concurrent tasks and adhere to deadlines.
  • Able to easily adapt to changing priorities.
  • Able to meet high expectations for precision and accuracy.
  • Must be highly organized.
  • Sound knowledge of settlements procedures, GOJ Debt instruments and Securities Pricing.
  • Working knowledge of various settlements systems both local and international.
  • Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with team members at all levels, stakeholders and officials of other public and private entities.
