Fontana Pharmacy - Barbican is hiring Pharmacy Assistants 

POSITION PURPOSE:
 
Responsible for assisting in the day-to-day running of the company; greeting customers, locating products, price-checking items, and organizing store shelves and displays. clerical duties required for the efficient running of the pharmacy. The pharmacy assistant’s responsibilities include triaging patients, handing in prescriptions, placing orders for pharmaceutical supplies, and operating the cash register. You should also be able to direct patients’ medication-related questions to the pharmacist.
 
This document describes the work that should normally be done. It should be borne in mind that no frame of reference is in itself complete and the use of one’s initiative and discretion must always be a guiding factor.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
 
The following are specific responsibilities and contributions critical to the successful performance of the position:
  • Greet customers entering the store.
  • Assist Technicians in facilitating triage at Dispensary Windows
  • Identify customers for special priority services eg. children, elderly, pregnant women
  • Provide product information to customers through the features, values, and benefits of each product.
  • Assist customers in finding goods.
  • Ensure that work areas are organized and clean.
  • Ensure products are neatly packed in the correct aisles
  • Check for the expiry date on goods and ensure they are priced correctly.
  • Introduce new goods, services, and upcoming sales to customers.
  • Ensure that items purchased are in good condition before it leaves the store.
  • Assist in transporting goods from the warehouse to the floor for restocking as required
  • Assist customers in bringing goods to their vehicles if necessary.
  • Maintaining inventory of all medication and pharmaceutical supplies.
  • Processing sales transactions for medications and other pharmaceutical supplies.
  • Directing all questions relating to prescriptions, health matters, or medications to the pharmacist.
  • Answering incoming telephone calls professionally.
  • Assisting with labeling prescriptions accurately.
  • Attending WhatsApp and emailed prescriptions
SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS:
 
In addition to the performance of the essential functions above, this position may be required to perform a combination of other supportive functions, to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of Fontana Limited.
 
Other:
  • In order to properly service our clients, you may be required to work outside of our scheduled business hours. Timely execution of duties in keeping with, pre-arranged schedule.

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
  • Working Environment / Physical Activities:
  • Considerable physical activity.
  • Requires the ability to move around the store and maneuver merchandise when necessary. Work is normally performed on the floor.
EXPERIENCE; EDUCATION OR CERTIFICATION
  • High School Diploma / School Leaving Certificate
  • At least 5 CXCs inclusive of Mathematics and English Language.
  • Must have at least one (1) year of experience in sales in a retail environment.
  • Trained and Certified in sales

  • Ability to maintain knowledge of products location
  • Must be able to maintain a friendly conversation at all times
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make
    decisions based on accurate and timely analyses
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate (verbal, listening, oral), and manage well at all levels of the organization and with other team members
  • Must be a multitasker with superb organizational skills
  • Must have strong internal and external customer service skills
  • Willingness to demonstrate lateral service and support in a cooperative and pleasant manner for the overall good of the company.
