Sagicor Group Jamaica Limited is seeking a suitable candidate to join our IT & Data Security team in the capacity of: Data Security Architect
- Have direct responsibility for designing and developing security architecture patterns that meet regulatory obligations and data protection requirements as well as align with the business and corporate security strategy.
- Work collaboratively with security engineers to build security controls and solutions compliant with approved architecture frameworks and standards.
- Where necessary, lead or provide subject matter expertise in network infrastructure assessment exercises.
- Assist in reviewing and designing the organization's security architecture, which includes identifying potential security threats, designing security controls, and implementing security measures.
- Participate and execute network review and infrastructure activities.
- Identify areas of weakness, stay up to date with the latest security standards, and have a thorough understanding of the organization's IT systems.
- Review and approve third-party solutions or technologies that are being considered for implementation within the organization.
- Assist in the development and implement secure architectural designs and solutions that align with an organization's overall business objectives.
- Work closely with senior executives and business stakeholders to ensure that security is integrated into all aspects of an organization's operations.
- Perform other related duties assigned from time to time.
What do you need?
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a Cyber Security equivalent qualification from a recognized tertiary institution.
- A minimum of two (2) years working experience in developing security architecture patterns that meet regulatory obligations and data protection requirements.
- Ability to create solutions that align enterprise security architecture frameworks and standards (e.g. SABSA, NIST 800-53, ISO 27002) with overall business and security strategy.
- Project management skills and/ or certification would be an asset.
- Qualifications desired; one or a combination of Security +, CCNA-Security, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Cybersecurity Architect, SSCP, CompTIA Secure Infrastructure Specialist, ITILv4, Certified Ethical Hacker CEH, CISSP-ISSAP, and/ or CISSP/ CISM.
- Experience in identifying gaps in existing network architectures.
- Experience in designing security architectures to mitigate threats.
- Knowledge of computer networking concepts and protocols (e.g. TCP/IP, DNS) and network security methodologies.
- Knowledge of network access, identity, and access management (e.g. public key infrastructure, Oauth, OpenID, SAML, SPML).
- Knowledge of capabilities and applications of network equipment including routers, switches, servers, transmission media, and related hardware.
- Knowledge of remote access technology concepts.
- Knowledge of application firewall concepts and functions (e.g. single point of authentication enforcement, data anonymization, DLP scanning, SSL/TLS security).
- Working experience in cybersecurity designs for systems, networks, and multi-level security requirements or requirements for processing multiple classification levels of data.
- Knowledge of risk management processes and experience in conducting risk assessments.
- Familiarity with the application of privacy principles to organizational requirements.
- Knowledge of identity and access management methods.
- Experience with Windows, Unix, and Linux operating systems.
- Knowledge of business continuity and disaster recovery operation plans.
- Ability to produce reports for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
