Sagicor Group Jamaica Limited is seeking a suitable candidate to join our Enterprise Risk Management & Group Compliance team in the capacity of: Assistant Manager – Enterprise Risk Management (Strategic & Non-Financial Risk)
Location: Kingston
As an Assistant Manager – Enterprise Risk Management, you will:
- Assist in managing, implementing and administering a group-wide enterprise risk management framework across the Sagicor Group.
- Ensure that policies and standards comply with the relevant regulations and provide advice on risk management issues.
- Assist in the comprehensive management of the fraud risk management framework for the Sagicor Group Jamaica Limited entities, ensuring comprehensive documentation, maintenance and oversight of the group-wide fraud management plan.
- Assist in the development, execution, and maintenance of a comprehensive group-wide enterprise risk management program, with specific focus on strategic and non-financial risk.
- Develop and implement processes to monitor and report on the operational risk exposures across the Group.
- Supervise the development, testing, maintenance and implementation of models, templates, and dashboards to measure, monitor and report on operational risk exposures across the Group.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of processes to assess and/ or monitor the effectiveness of the Enterprise Risk
- Management (ERM) framework and adherence to policies and standards.
- Ensure the collection, collation, and maintenance of relevant historical data required for risk analysis.
- Prepare/ ensure the preparation of timely and accurate reporting on operational risk matters to the Manager, ERM – Strategic & Non-financial Risks and relevant stakeholders.
- Support the development, implementation and maintenance of risk management documents including risk appetite statements, policies, procedures, standards, taxonomies, risk dictionaries and mandates, and ensure their ongoing relevance.
- Keep informed on changes in regulatory requirements governing all business lines across the Group and assist in monitoring the
- Group’s activities and exposures in accordance with these requirements.
- Assist in the development and revision of ERM documents in line with relevant best practice principles and regulatory guidelines.
- Contribute to the review of changes in financial legislation and regulations impacting the Group.
- Perform/ ensure performance of risk assessment of products, services, transactions, and counterparties using appropriate decision support tools and techniques including technical and fundamental analysis, sensitivity analysis, statistical inference and business intelligence, ensuring that all financial are accurately identified and mitigated.
- Drive the identification and assessment of financial risks, and the development of risk control strategies and activities.
- Evaluate possible adverse movements in key risk factors and quantify their potential impact on the Group’s earnings, capital, reputation and market presence.
- Continuously monitor the external environments and ensure the identification, assessment, and reporting of emerging non-financial risks impacting the businesses across the Group.
- Act as a risk management subject matter expert to the Business to ensure effective strategic and operational risk management across the Group.
- Provide insight, feedback and guidance to the business based on strategic risk management knowledge.
- Perform other related duties assigned from time to time.
What do you need?
- Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related discipline from a recognized tertiary institution.
- Minimum of three (3) years’ working experience in Risk Management including knowledge of risk management governance and controls.
- Risk Management designation/ training such as FRM or CFA.
- Fraud Risk Management and Business Continuity Management.
- Experience in Project Management would be an asset.
- In-depth knowledge of risk management matters impacting Insurance, Securities Dealing and Banking.
- Sound knowledge of the Banking Services Act, Companies Act, Securities Act, and regulatory requirements for Insurance, Securities
- Dealing & Banking, new product development of related business initiatives.
- Strong ability to partner and work cross functionally.
- Ability to establish rapport and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong analytical thinking, conceptual thinking, innovation, teamwork and cooperation.
