Sagicor Group Jamaica Limited is seeking a suitable candidate to join our IT & Data Security team in the capacity of: Security Operations and Administration Officer
Location: Kingston
As a Security Operations and Administration Officer, you will:
Ensure appropriate controls are in place for the security of information assets.
Play a key role in the review and development of policies, the implementation of internal IT controls and compliance improvements.
Ensure that our procedures and activities comply with all regulatory requirements and internal policies.
Configure security systems, analyze security requirements, and recommend improvements where necessary.
Consulting with team members, managers, and executives about the best security practices and provide technical advice.
Configure and support security tools, such as firewalls and anti-virus software.
Update security software with the latest stable security patches and ensure the proper defenses are present for each network resource.
Install, administer, and troubleshoot network security solutions.
Troubleshoot any access problem and implement network security policies and application security, access control and corporate data safeguards.
Monitor patch management to ensure network equipment and operating systems are protected against vulnerabilities.
Perform other related duties assigned from time to time.
What do you need?
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cyber Security or equivalent qualification from a recognized tertiary institution.
Direct experience with security systems, including intrusion detection applications, endpoint detections and response tools, firewalls, anti-virus systems and SIEM.
Minimum of two years’ working experience in administering IT security controls in a corporate entity.
Familiarity with CIS CSC, NIST CSF, NIST 800-53, ISO 27001/2 would be an asset.
Project management skills and/ or certification would be an asset.
Certification in one or more of the following: Security +, CySA+, Network +, CISSP, CISM, GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC), GIAC Critical Controls Certification (GCCC), SANS, and/or ITILv4 would be an asset.
Knowledge of technical infrastructure, networks, databases and systems in relation to IT and /or data security risks.
Ability to communicate effectively.
Excellent human relations skills
Ability to produce reports for technical and non-technical stakeholders, i.e. Senior Management.
