The Board of Management for Marcus Garvey Technical High School is inviting suitably qualified persons with a proven track record of excellence to fill the position of Vice Principal as at January 1, 2023
JOB PURPOSE
Assist the principal in providing school-wide leadership so as to promote the educational development of each student, and work collaboratively with the leadership team in leading and managing so as to ensure the effective operation of the school.
CORE FUNCTIONS AND REQUIRED SKILLS OF THE POSITION
- Lead in analyzing school performance, attendance, welfare and other data
- Provide professional guidance to teachers— supervising, performance management and record keeping
- Lead activities to promote innovation in teaching and learning
- Foster a culture of teamwork and commitment to the goals of the school
- Adequate knowledge of the Education Act and Regulations and also
- Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written formats
- Excellent human relation skills
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree in Education/Educational Administration
- Trained Teacher Certification
- Minimum five (5) years teaching experience
- Three years of supervisory experience
- A proven track record of excellent senior leadership in a secondary school
- Qualification in school administration would be an asset
- NCEL Leadership training or present involvement in the programme would be an asset
