    Job Description

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The following are specific responsibilities and contributions critical to the successful performance of the position:

    • Greet customers when they are entering the store.
    • Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security of premises.
    • Check customer receipts at door.
    • Prevents losses and damage by reporting irregularities; informing violators of policy and procedures; restraining trespassers.
    • Act lawfully in direct defense of life or property
    • Secures premises and personnel by patrolling property, monitoring surveillance equipment, inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points; permitting entry.
    • Answer alarms and investigate disturbances.
    • Write reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.
    • Use walkie-talkies, pagers, and cell phones to stay in contact with security personnel.
    • Regulate and monitor building systems.
    • Assist in the closing of the store.

    SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS:

    • In addition to performance of the essential functions above, this position may be required to perform a combination of other supportive functions, to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of Fontana Limited.

    Other:

    • In order to properly service our clients, you may be required to work outside of our scheduled business hours.
    • Timely execution of duties in keeping with pre-arranged schedule.
    • Care and diligence in protecting the organization’s assets.

    QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
    Working Environment / Physical Activities:

    • Considerable physical activity. May encounter long working hours.
    • Work is normally performed in a typical open environment.
    • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

    EXPERIENCE; EDUCATION OR CERTIFICATION

    • Must be certified and trained.
    • At least 3 years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
    • Must be computer literate.

    SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

    • Demonstrated ability to assess situations and respond appropriately.
    • Ability to carry out instructions effectively.
    • Hands on experience of using and installing alarm systems.
    • Trained in physical combat and the use of arms.
    • Proven ability to work independently.
    • Ability to work flexible hours.
    • Ability to handle and resolve conflicts in an effective manner.
    • Ability to act with urgency in an emergency situation.
    • Long term interest in patrolling assigned areas.
    • Ability to analyze and solve problems.
    • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate (verbal, listening, oral) and manage well at all levels of the organization and with staff at remote locations essential.
    • Must be detailed oriented and a multitasker with superb organizational skills
    • Must possess a high level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency
    • Must have strong internal and external customer service skills
