Description

The Jamaica Information Service (JIS), an Executive Agency, invites applications from suitably qualified professionals for the following position: Videographer
Salary range: $1,031,432 - $1,411,240 p.a.

Job Scope:
Under the supervision of the Social Media Manager, the Videographer is responsible for producing and editing high-quality video recordings and coverage of events for Ministries, Departments and Executive Agencies (MDEAs) islandwide.

Core Functions

  1. Covers assignments on location and in the studio
  2. Edits video content.
  3. Liaises with the Social Media Manager in order to set up shoots and ensures proper lighting for all shoots and sludio work.
  4. Cares for all equipment in accordance with manufacturers’ instructions.
  5. Ensures the security and safety of ENG equipment on assignments at all times.
  6. Performs any other related duties which may be assigned by the Social Media Manager.

Minimum Required Qualifications and

Experience:

  1. Diploma from a recognised tertiary institution.
  2. Completion of relevant Videography training.
  3. Two (2) years' experience in Electronic News Gathering (ENG) camera operations.
Required Competencies:
  1. Good communication, interpersonal and customer relations skills,
  2. Sound knowledge of videography, sound recording and photography.
  3. Good video editing skills
  4. Knowledge of electronics and digital equipment as well as the operation of multimedia systems.
  5. Working knowledge of protocols for state and diplomatic events.
