Sagicor Life Jamaica Limited is seeking a suitable candidate to join our Group Insurance Services (Client Care) team in the capacity of:  Supervisor – Claims Payments
Location: Kingston
 
As A Supervisor – Claims Payment, you will:
  • Accurately adjudicate and issue payments for claims up to a limit of $1,000,000.
  • Supervise activities of team members within the unit, ensuring that productivity standards are met and maintained.
  • Adjudicate and initiate payments of claims for dental, optical, medical, maternity and surgical claims up to a stipulated limit:
  • Input information related to the processing of all health claims including provider number, service, diagnosis codes and approve assigned categories of claims.
  • Screen claims for eligibility.
  • Initiate payment of claims.
  • Prepare Claim Review worksheet on claims for the review of the Manager.
  • Release overlimit claims up to a stipulated limit.
  • Monitor and supervise claims activities within teams.
  • Dispatch claims to the unit team members.
  • Screen claims to ensure eligibility and to eliminate fraud.
  • Identify and recommend team training programmes.
  • Assist with the selection process for awarding incentives to high achievers.
  • Prioritize work assignments and set completion dates for department.
  • Evaluate performance and provide on-the-job training to team.
  • Analyze weekly productivity reports for discussion with Adjudicators and for
  • submission to the Manager.
  • Perform any other duties assigned.
What do you need?
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Natural Science or relevant discipline from a recognized tertiary institution.
  • At least three (3) years’ working experience in Health Claims processing.
  • Sound supervisory skills.
  • Good time management and customer relations skills.
  • Sound knowledge of computer software packages, including word processing and spreadsheet applications.
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminologies.
  • Working knowledge of Group Life and Health Insurance operations.
