Description

The Jamaica Teachers’ Association (JTA) is seeking applications from suitably qualified persons to fill the position of Secretary, Supervisor in the Office of the Secretary General and President.

Job Scope

This position provides a wide range of Secretarial tasks for the President and Secretary General and serves as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders on all matters pertaining to their offices. The ideal candidate must have the ability to exercise good judgement in a variety of situations and be able to work well under pressure. This is a highly confidential position.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A first degree in Business Administration/Business Studies or related areas
  • Must have at least five (5) years experience as an
  • Administrative Assistant or Senior Secretary.

  • Must have at least five (5) years experience as an Administrative Assistant or Senior Secretary.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Must be adept at using the Microsoft Office Suite and must have excellent ICT Skills
  • Must be able to work on own initiative
  • Must be a problem solver with critical thinking skills
  • Must be able to take Minutes, create Programmes and Agendas, prepare letters and other correspondence with very little supervision
  • Knowledge and experience of Records Management
