Sales Accounting Supervisor

Sales Accounting Supervisor 
 
The Sales Accounting Supervisor is responsible for providing timely and reliable accounting support that facilitates improved collections for goods sold, reduces the probability of bad and doubtful debts and provides the basis for making sound financial decisions.
 
Responsibilities
 
Ensures:
  • Products dispatched per driver are reconciled, cases & kgs
  • Invoices are completely, accurately, and promptly accounted for
  • Bins from which billing was done are appropriately cleared.
  • Customers are sent a corrected copy of invoice within 24 hours of deliver where applicable
  • Invoice register by user is checked for completeness and accuracy, and that review is evidenced by signing and dating same
  • Proceeds from cash and credit sales are completely, accurately and promptly accounted for on receipt of such funds.
  • Ensure post-dated cheque register is satisfactorily maintained and the cheques are promptly receipted and lodged on cheque dates
  • Ensure temporary receipts issued by drivers for cash or credit sales are accounted for on receipt of such funds
  • Petty cash float is satisfactorily maintained and secured.
  • Single file is maintained for cash invoices, reports, and invoices
Reviews and approves:
  • The issuance of Stop Orders where there are shortages and/or non-compliance to Approved SOPS
  • The reconciliation of the Cash Receipt Register total
  • Bank lodgments
  • The cashier’s daily lodgment report
 
Other responsibilities:
  • Promptly reports any cash shortages
  • Prepare and update credit notes
  • Prepare weekly drivers discrepancy report
  • Enforces the approved corrective actions where there are breaches of the approved SOPs.
Requirements
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Banking, Business Administration or related field
  • At least 3 years’ experience in Accounting or Auditing at the supervisory level
  • Strong working knowledge of current changes in Accounting Standards & Principles
  • Flexibility, ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and work on shifts
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Great attention to details
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to communicate with persons at all levels
  • Candidates must be based in Longsville Park, Freetown; Old Harbour or May Pen
