THE BOARD OF GOVERNORS INVITES APPLICATIONS FOR THE POST OF

PRINCIPAL

(effective September 1, 2019)

The Ardenne Preparatory and Extension High School is a Christian Institution owned and operated by the Church of God in Jamaica.

Minimum Requirements

  • A trained teacher with a Masters Degree in Education from an accredited university
  • National College for Educational Leadership (NCELJ) Certification
  • Five years experience as a school administrator (preferably at least two years at the Primary level)

The Principal will be expected to:

  • provide effective leadership and management of the school's operations in keeping with the policies of the Board of Governors and the Ministry of Education
  • provide strong guidance for teaching staff ensuring that they are utilizing current methodologies and best practices
  • collaborate with internal and external stakeholders in the development and execution of strategies that will contribute to the continued transformation of the institution.

The applicant should possess the following:

  • Excellent knowledge of the curriculum, the teaching and learning processes and assessment practices
  • The ability to the think strategically, formulate plans, and guide the implementation process for the achievement of institutional goals
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Ministry of Education's regulations and guidelines, Child Care and Protection Act
  • Knowledge of the relevant labour laws, employment practices and procedures

Required Skills:

  • Exceptional competence in leadership and strategic management
  • Outstanding ability in oral and written communication
  • Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills
  • Good knowledge of Information Communication and Technology
  • Sound reporting and budget planning skills
