Description
The National Solid Waste Management Authority (NSWMA) invites applications from suitably qualified persons to fill the position of Investigator.
The successful candidate will report to the Senior Investigator and the primary responsibilities are employing proper investigative techniques to identify the sources of illegal dumping, investigating breaches of the terms and conditions of licences to operate disposal facilities, preparing investigation reports of a standard that can be used in court proceedings and to serve enforcement and cessation notices.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
 
Education/Experience:
  • BSc. Degree in a related field;
  • At least three (3) years' experience in Solid Waste or in the field of Environmental Management;
  • Training in respect of Investigative Techniques,
  • Intelligence Gathering, Surveillance and Investigative
  • Report Writing;
  • Computer Literate in respect of Microsoft Office.
Specifications
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels;
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks;
  • An aptitude to follow written and oral instructions;
  • Ability to carry out tasks without constant supervision;
  • In possession of a valid drivers’ licence and reliable vehicle;
  • Knowledge of civil security requirement.
