Description
The University of Technology, Jamaica, School of Hospitality & Tourism Management in the College of Business and Management seeks to identify suitable candidates to fill the following post: Culinary Instructor: Specializing in Food Styling, Writing and Photography (Part-Time)
 
ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS: 
 
The successful candidate should possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree in the related field of Food Styling, Photography and Writing or related professional certification, that is, the University Council of Jamaica (UCJ) equivalent to the minimum of a Bachelor’s degree.
 
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
 
The candidate should possess:
  • a minimum of three (3) years’ professional experience in Food Styling, Food Photography and creating or editing Food Magazines, Blogs or Websites; and
  • at least two (2) years full-time or part-time teaching and assessment experience and possess a valid Food Handler’s Permit; 
The incumbent will need to demonstrate a clear commitment to teaching as well as research, and show evidence of successful educational/training practice, offer instruction through a variety of approaches including lectures, practicals, small group tutorials, problem-based learning, and 'e-learning' initiatives, and will be expected to innovate in each of these areas.  The incumbent must be able to organize; deliver; coach and assess food styling, staging and presentation, food photography techniques, media (online and print) for food reviews, blogs and magazine development, student creativity and concept development.
