BROADCAST ENGINEER (TELEVISION STUDIO)

Position Requirements:

• Diploma In Electronics or similar discipline from a recognized tertiary Institution
• Training in the use of Television studio equipment
• A minimum of two (2) years’ practical experience

Required Technical Skills & Qualifications:

• Working knowledge of the operation of Television Broadcast Equipment
• Working knowledge of computer networking
• Ability to make decisions regarding the equipment required for Outside broadcasts (0Bs).
• Judgement and ability to make general decisions regarding locations once OB sites are designated.
• Ability to adequately maintain broadcast equipment.
• Excellent IT and networking skills
• Excellent professional communication skills (both verbal and written) required.

Special Conditions:

• Must be flexible and willing to work Irregular hours Including evenings, weekends and public holidays

Main Responsibilities:

• Assisting In selecting the equipment required for outdoor broadcasts
• Inspecting equipment supplied to ensure that they are in proper working order
• Creating Media Playout Systems Support Interface with IT to resolve Issues.
• Assembling and operating links between OB units and studios
• Testing and maintaining broadcast and transmission equipment
• Promptly Identifying and repairing technical faults, with minimum disruption to service.
