Sagicor Group Jamaica Limited is seeking a suitable candidate to join our Group Marketing team in the capacity of:
Assistant Manager – Corporate Communications
Location: Kingston
*Frequent work outside of regular office hours.
*Frequent travel island wide
As an Assistant Manager – Corporate Communications, you will:
- Assist with the development and implementation of internal and external communication strategies for the organization to ensure that unified, consistent, and positive messages define and promote the corporate identity and mission of Sagicor Group Jamaica and its subsidiaries.
- Monitor all client communication touch points including website and social media channels and maintain positive media relations.
- Ensure that the overall corporate image of Sagicor and its subsidiaries are always maintained.
- Assist with the development and implementation of communication strategies and plans with accompanying budgets, to achieve objectives in keeping with the company’s overall strategy.
- Assist with the evaluation and implementation of public relations opportunities consistent with the Group’s products, services and clientele.
- Prepare and present monthly reports to include, public relations, corporate social responsibility and social media exposures for Sagicor Group and its subsidiaries.
- Monitor local and international market trends and give recommendations where necessary.
- Develop and maintain excellent relationships with corporate partners (media, suppliers, agencies) and continuously evaluate these relationships to ensure fair value for the company.
- Ensure that all communication material/ channels are up-to-date, accurate and consistent with brand standards.
- Ensure development and growth of social media platforms.
- Manage and motivate Marketing Communications Officers ensuring that requisite training and professional development plans are developed and executed.
- Perform other related duties assigned from time to time.
What do you need?
- Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism and Mass Communications, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized tertiary institution.
- Minimum of three (3) years’ working experience in marketing or related field.
- Experience in the financial services industry would be an asset.
- Ability to work individually as well as part of a team
- Ability to meet multiple project deadlines and demonstrate good ability to detail.
- Familiarity with web design.
- Experience in content management.
- Knowledge of Search Engine Optimization, keyword research and Google Analytics.
- Understanding of media operations.
- Competence in oral and written communication as it relates to media and public relations.
- Thorough understanding of the financial industry and regulatory environment.
- Sound knowledge of computer software packages including spreadsheets, word processing, database management and graphics tools.
- Valid Driver’s license and a reliable motor vehicle.
