Sales Controller

Please see below the role of the Sales Controller in our Shared Services Department.
Key Duties
The Sales Controller is the financial partner to the Sales, Marketing and Distribution Teams and plays a critical role in the following:
- The participation in product, customer, and channel strategy development
- The provision of advice to the Sales Team on optimal product mix in facilitating profit maximization
- To work closely with the Operations Team to ensure cost containment
- To oversee the management of the trade receivables and ensuring the routine monitoring of DSO and ageing
- To oversee the management of the balancing of delivery trucks and updating of customers’ accounts
- To set up, maintain and review controls surrounding distribution and delivery operations
Business analysis
- Providing timely information to Sales Team bidding on contracts
- Preparing information outlining the impact on the changes in input costs such as raw and packaging materials, change in mix of inputs
- Calculating selling prices taking into consideration margins and market requirements
- Preparing cost analyses for special pricing of products
- Monitoring the performance of products based on budgets and targets
- Conducting pre and post evaluations of various business initiatives and the feasibility of such
- Assessing the effectiveness of trade expenditure such as discounts and special offers
- Maintaining database with competitive products and prices
- Assisting with periodic sales forecasting by reviewing trends and changes in market conditions
- Reviewing inventory of different product groups and providing pricing advice on slow-moving items
- Analyzing capital expenditure associated with product development or improvement to ensure adequate returns
Sales Accounting
Ensuring adherence to daily settlement procedures
Monitoring the controls of handling cash and delivering goods
Credit and collections
- Chairing Credit and Collections Committee meetings
- Ensuring the compliance with trade terms
- Conducting periodic reviews to assess changes in customers’ risk profile
General
- Assisting with the preparation of ad hoc reports to facilitate decision-making
- Conducting other duties reasonably assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and/or Professional Accounting qualifications e.g. ACCA, FCA, CPA, MBA with a major in Accounting or equivalent
- At least ten (10) years of experience in Accounting or Auditing and Business Analyses in a fast-paced environment
- Strong knowledge of current changes in Accounting Standards & Principles
- Excellent computer skills with proficiency in MS Office software applications (e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoint and other graphic software)
- Ability to maintain and preserve strict confidentiality
