Sagicor Group Jamaica Limited is seeking a suitable candidate to join our Group Technology & Insurance Operations team in the capacity of: Manager – IT & Data Security and Data Protection
Location: Kingston
As a Manager – IT Security & Data Protection, you will:
- Plan strategies and budget for the protection of data asset and rights of data owners.
- Organize resources to achieve objectives, implement controls and executing projects.
- Monitor, measure and report on the effectiveness of controls and compliance to laws, acts, and standards.
- Secure enterprise data and technology assets by designing, implementing, and enforcing security controls, safeguards, policies, and procedures.
- Design, develop, and implement protective, detective, and corrective controls to safeguard the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of Sagicor Group Jamaica’s data assets.
- Manage team members of the IT & Data Security and Data Protection functions.
- Implement measures and privacy governance framework to manage data use in compliance with the applicable laws/ standards/ acts, including developing templates for data collection, assisting with data mapping, and vendor management reviews.
- Monitor internal compliance, inform and advise the organization on data protection obligations.
- Provide advice regarding Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and act as a contact point for data subjects, Sagicor internal teams and the supervisory authority.
- Establish and maintain a risk register of processing operations within Sagicor Group Jamaica Limited and notify Managers and regulatory Supervisory Authorities regarding the specific risks, as necessary.
- Identify and evaluate the company’s data processing activities.
- Perform other related duties assigned from time to time.
What do you need?
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a Cyber Security equivalent qualification from a recognized tertiary institution.
- IT & Data Security designations/ qualifications such as CISM and/ or CISSP.
- Certifications in IT auditing and risk, such as CISA or CRISC.
- Possession of at least one Data Protection and/ or Privacy certification such as, Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/E and CIPP/US), Certified Information Privacy Technologist (CIPT), Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM) would be an asset.
- Minimum five years’ working experience in IT/ Data/ Cyber Security and/ or Data Privacy Protection management.
- Project management skills and/or certification would be an asset.
- Knowledge of technological trends and developments in the areas of information security, risk management, and data protection.
- Knowledge of information security and risk control frameworks such as COBiT, ISO 27001/2, ISO22301, NIST, PCI, HIPAA, ITIL, CIS, and ISO 31000.
- Sound knowledge of Jamaica’s Data Protection Act, Cayman/ Panama/ Costa Rica Data Protection Law, GDPR and other relevant data protection laws/ acts/ standards.
- Proven integrity and the ability to handle confidential matters in a professional manner, applying the appropriate level of judgment and maturity.
