CAREER OPPORTUNITY
Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons to fill the following position: Coordinator - Certification of Programme for Youth
The Jamaica Centre for Tourism Innovation (JCT;I) in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Youth and Information (MOEY& I) delivers a hospitality certification programme for youth island wide. The two-year certification programme, provide candidates with certificate from American Hotel & Lodging Educ{ational Institute (AHLEI) as well as an Occupational Associate Degree (OAD) in Customer Service.
CORE FUNCTIONS
- Monitor the delivery of the HTMP in high schools
- Monitor the delivery of OAD in Customer Service in community colleges
- Work with AHLEI to facilitate collection and transmission to examination scantrons associated with HTMP certification examinations
- Facilitate the delivery of Certified Hospitality Instructor (CHI) Level 1 and Level 2 Certification for teachers delivering the HTMP
- Monitor payments to community colleges delivering the OAD in
- Attend regular meetings with MOEY&I to monitor roll out of programme
REQUIRED QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science/Arts or equivalent qualification
- At least 3 years’ experience in a similar capacity
KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / COMPETENCE
- Excellent oral, presentation and writing skills’
- Working knowledge of the machinery of government (policies and programmes)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Publisher and Powerpoint
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Travelling island-wide to conduct duties is required.
