Sagicor Group Jamaica Limited is seeking a suitable candidate to join our Disbursement Operations team in the capacity of: Accounting Associate – Electronic & Cheque Disbursement Unit (Contract)

Location: Kingston

As an Accounting Associate, you will:

• Process & dispatch cheques for waiting clients.
• Assist with starting and closing out the Cheque printing systems daily; monitoring the Capsil system during the day to ensure cheques are accurately printed.
• Assist with the processing of the Electronic Payments and data for cheque management reports and process improvements.
• Print Checklog 3 reports in the mornings and reconcile the batches before sorting.
• Prepare and dispatch the provider & member claim cheques from the GIAS System- GEASO, GPASO & Group accounts.
• Process and dispatch Accounts Payables cheques processed via the SUN system.
• Assist with dispatching all Capsil cheques for waiting clients and ensure that other policy cheques are prepared and dispatched to the respective departments.
• Assist with Electronic Payments.
• Assist with data gathering for Cheque Report Generation.
• Assist with streamline of cheque processes and provide feedback for documentation of roles and processes.
• Perform other job-related duties assigned from time to time.

What do you need?

• Minimum of a Diploma in Business Administration or ACCA Level 1, AAT Level 11 or equivalent qualifications from a recognized tertiary institution.
• At least three (3) years’ accounting experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• Excellent human relations and client service skills.
• Keen attention to details.
• Sound knowledge of computer software packages such as word processing and spreadsheet applications.
