    Sagicor Life Jamaica Limited is seeking a suitable candidate to join our Insurance Operation Services – Client Data Management team in the capacity of: Sessional Pharmacist

    Location: Kingston

    As a Sessional Pharmacist, you will:

    • Provide support for the processing of health claims and ProHealth system, ensuring that the prescription drugs being claimed for are verified to be covered or not covered, by the respective health plans.
    • Identify over the counter (OTC) drugs, as well as specify whether a drug is the brand or generic and the monthly quantity.
    • Verify prescription drugs categories, stating if covered or not covered.
    • Provide support to the Group Client Support Centre, and Providers, re the handling of queries, within the Pro-
    • Health System within normal business hours, off peak hours and weekends as scheduled.
    • Specify if drugs are brand or generic, where applicable, for existing and new drug items.
    • Update the limitations of the number/daily supply, for existing and new drug items based on the Drug Table listing provided.
    • Perform duties relating to projects and assist with performance testing within the ProHealth system and complete monthly activity reports for submission to the Supervisor.
    • Complete pre-authorized requests for extension of prescription drug benefit, and pre-approvals for extended supply of medication submitted by subscribers, brokers, and HRD Administrators.
    • Perform any other job-related duties assigned from time to time.

    What do you need?

    • A Bachelor’s Degree of Pharmacy from a recognized tertiary institution.
    • Minimum of two (2) years’ working experience in administering pharmaceutical drugs.
    • In depth knowledge of pharmaceutical products.
    • To be able to identify Brand drugs vs. generic.
    • Ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality.
    • Keen attention to details and ability to work with a high level of accuracy.
    • Working knowledge of PC software applications including spreadsheets and word processing and other
    • Microsoft applications.
