Position Title: Warehouse Assistant
Location: Waterloo
Department: Warehouse
Reports to: Warehouse Supervisor

POSITION PURPOSE:

Ensure goods are readily available and sorted for delivery and the floor.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The following are specific responsibilities and contributions critical to the successful performance of the position:

• Ensure that goods are being properly stored
• Maintain the cleanliness of the aisles, shelves and bays in the warehouse
• Sort all goods that are being delivered and shipped
• Assist in receiving unloading trucks, checking in merchandise, matching requests to completed pick lists and distribute to inventory for processing
• Read requisitions to determine items to be picked and/ or shipped
• Read customer orders, work orders, shipping orders or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered or distributed and/or shipped
• Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets/ shelves or relocate orders to a holding area /shipping department.
• Assist in counting of physical inventory.
• Complete requisition forms to order supplies from other departments.
• Organize warehouse and work area for orderliness at all times.
• Wear the proper safety equipment.
• Mark materials with identifying information using appropriate method
• Move materials and items from receiving or storage areas to shipping or to other designated areas.
• May require handling of objects that can weigh up to 50 lbs.

EXPERIENCE; EDUCATION OR CERTIFICATION

• School Leaving Certificate
• At least 5 CXC subject including Mathematics and English
• At least 1 year experience in a similar capacity
