Sagicor Group Jamaica Limited is seeking a suitable candidate to join our Group Pricing and Risk Assessment team in the capacity of: Risk Officer
Location: Kingston
As a Risk Officer, you will:
Provide assistance to the Assistant Manager and Assistant Vice President (AVP) with carrying out the daily functions of the Underwriting Department, to ensure the effective operations of the department to meet the needs of internal and external stakeholders.
Assist in providing support to the Employee Benefits Marking department:
Prepare new business and renewal quotations for Group Health, Group Life, Critical Illness and Personal Accident products (for small and Large Groups)
Complete monthly and quarterly reports to be reviewed by the Assistant Manager and signed by Assistant Vice President.
Conduct new business quotes for Costa Rica.
Assist with the medical underwriting of applications for employer and non-employer groups.
Assist with rate entry on the platform, GIAS.
Perform other related duties assigned from time to time.
What do you need?
Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, or Mathematics from a recognized tertiary institution.
Experience in a business/ computing environment would be an asset.
Excellent mathematical, research, analytical and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of the general and technical operations, practices and principles of a life insurance company and its related business lines, in particular employee benefits.
Good interpersonal and communication skills.
Sound knowledge of computer software packages including word processing and spreadsheet applications.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
